What can you say that has been unsaid about the Western Isles of Scotland? I’ve long harboured a wish to visit the Hebrides. Apart from regular business trips to Glasgow I hadn’t been to Scotland since the 1980s when I stayed on the banks of the spectacular Loch Awe and visited Oban and Iona whilst there. Travel restrictions meant that we were unable to spend time in france this year so this was my moment.

For years I’ve poured over the many stunning images of the Hebrides so this year was my opportunity to create some of my own. It’s difficult to find the words to describe the immense beauty of the islands. Even in the horrendous weather conditions we experienced its charms were irresistible. You simply have to go out and literally soak it up.

You’ll find the story of my journey in the Blog section of this site. In the meantime I’ll let the photographs do the talking, albeit they seem pathetically inadequate to describe what we saw and experienced.
